Title: Database Programmer/Analyst
Location: San Francisco, CA
Full Description:
Typical Project Responsibilities
Meeting with subject matter experts to determine requirements for front-end programs that you will create with MS Access or Windows Forms. The back-end data will be in SQL Server databases with linked servers to Oracle and DB2
Designing a solution, including delivery effort and timeline, testing plan, and implementation plan
Coding and testing the application, periodically conducting code reviews and verification meetings with senior OPS staff
Deploying the application to production following OPS and client procedures for change control, source code repository (we use Subversion), implementation testing, etc.
Supporting the application and incorporate user feedback into planning for the next release.
Other Projects
You may work on a variety of other projects, including the following.
Web-based applications and software as a service implementations
Ad-hoc analysis and presentation using MS Access and Excel
Process support, including monitoring critical jobs and resolving failures if they occur.
Qualifications

A relevant degree
A minimum of 1-2 years development experience
Knowledge of relational data models, data modeling, database programming, and SQL
Solid testing skills
Strong business analysis and critical thinking skills
Ability to communicate well verbally, to meet with users and discuss their data, applications, and project requirements
Ability to write clearly, to create technical documentation that explains the design, development, testing, and maintenance of your applications.
Secondary Qualifications
The following skills and experience are helpful, but not necessary. Please apply even if you do not meet these criteria.
Experience with Supply Chain logistics, Pharmaceuticals, or the Healthcare industry
Experience with ETL tools (SQL Server DTS and SSIS)
Other RDBMS experience (Oracle, DB2, Sybase)
Reporting experience (SQL Server Reporting Services, Crystal Reports, MS Access)
Web development experience (ASP classic, ASP.Net, PHP, JSP)
Additional Requirements
You will need to complete online tests to demonstrate competency in Analytical Thinking, SQL, and SQL Server
You will need to clear a criminal background investigation (required by our clients)
You must provide documentation showing that you are legally authorized to work in the United States.
